Class Description

This class will explore commonly-held perceptions, assumptions, and stereotypes of Muslim women and will explore these through contemporary socio-political trends as well as the lived experiences of two Muslim women. The session will also highlight movements around the Muslim world where women are asserting their rights and challenging gender roles within an Islamic framework.
