Housing and Homelessness: What You Need to Know, What You Can Do

In this class, participants will work with two experts in the field of housing and homelessness – two leaders who have spent years on the front lines of homelessness issues offering direct care, solving administrative challenges, and navigating state and federal policies, programs, and funding. After laying out a framework for thinking about issues surrounding housing and homelessness, the workshop facilitators will invite questions and discussion, and will share opportunities for you to become more aware, more active on these issues, and more involved. All are welcome to share in this moving experience learning from two leaders in the field who have much to share and stories to tell. Your hearts will be touched and changed. Join us.

Trainer: Bill Miller, Vice President of Housing and Homeless Services, Friends of the Homeless, Springfield, MA; and Delphine Wray, who recently graduated with a B.S. in Human Services from Springfield College and has over two decades of work experience in the field of Human Services. She has held many positions in the field, including positions at FOH, and specializes in working with homeless populations that are considered the most vulnerable. Delphine also has life experience that has led her to this field and provides a vivid insight in how to best focus on the care, support, advocacy, and location of suitable, affordable housing needed by the homeless clients she serves.
