Multiracial and Interfaith Families
Presented by Emily Mentin-Chamble and Dwayne Chamble, this course will focus on the experience of creating a multiracial and interfaith family. It will feature the perspective of 12 year-old Zion, who has been raised in a privileged, predominantly white, somewhat diverse community with a commitment to social justice and equity. Emily, Dwayne, and Zion will share how we navigate the challenges posed by this from our individual perspectives, and how we have intentionally created spaces where our children can see themselves and our family reflected back to them. Our family experience will offer an opportunity for you to create similar conversations within your families and communities. We hope to facilitate dialogue with participants and to open up a space for children and families to come together.
